Quarterly Senior Roundtable

The SMPS Colorado Senior Leadership Roundtable is a peer group for senior marketing and business development leaders, providing support for members facing similar career and business challenges. In 2025, the quarterly events will explore trends impacting A/E/C professionals, based on the SMPS Foundation's “Building Resilience: A/E/C’s Path Beyond 2025.” The third session will focus on “Sustainability: Responding to Shifting Landscapes”.

By bringing together accomplished leaders, we aim to create an environment conducive to valuable conversations on leadership experiences and the qualities that define successful leaders in the A/E/C industry. Participants will have the opportunity to delve into lessons learned, share best practices and challenges, and engage in discussions that go beyond the surface, all within a safe and confidential space.

To participate in the Senior Leadership Roundtable, we ask the following:

  • Active SMPS Colorado membership
  • A minimum of 10 years of industry experience AND/OR leadership positions at firm
  • A passion for transforming business through marketing leadership.

Key Takeaways:

  • Comprehensive Sustainable Strategies: Discuss the need for firms to develop and implement comprehensive sustainability strategies that address environmental concerns while also informing marketing and business development efforts. This includes defining what sustainability means to your firm and how it will position itself in the broader conversation.
  • Impact of Climate Change: Evaluate how climate change is causing significant challenges that directly impact the built environment. Discuss how the A/E/C industry can adapt by creating resilient buildings and adopting sustainable practices.
  • Government Regulations and Incentives: Examine how government regulations and incentives play a role in promoting sustainable building practices. These can include tax breaks, grants, and faster permitting processes to encourage investment in sustainability. Firms must navigate these regulations and leverage incentives to meet sustainability goals.
  • Commitment to Implementation: Strategize on the implementation of sustainable practices, including dedicating resources, investing in employee training, establishing clear sustainability goals and KPIs, and regularly communicating progress.
