Restaurant Review: Old Hickory Steakhouse

Restaurant Review

Old Hickory SteakhouseEvery year for our anniversary, my husband and I like to splurge on a fancy meal. We love to explore new places, but I was reminded this November that the Old Hickory Steakhouse is one of our favorites for a reason!

If you haven’t taken the opportunity to visit the Gaylord Rockies, I highly recommend it. They have great entertainment throughout the year, especially over Christmas. The hotel is currently wrapping up a $22 million exterior enhancement project that is scheduled to complete this January, which means the grounds will be even more enjoyable to walk around.

The Old Hickory Steakhouse is a popular high-end restaurant (reservations highly recommended) with amazing food that can be found there on-site. Their menu focuses on Seafood and Steak – nothing too unusual – but the flavors and seasonings bring everything to a new level! Their menu can be found here: Gaylord Rockies Old Hickory Steakhouse.

This past November, I enjoyed their seasonal fish dish, and my husband and I shared their Roasted Brussel Sprouts and Wild Mushrooms. Every bite was SO good! Our table faced the restaurant’s large fireplace and the service was impeccable.

After dinner, enjoy one of their amazing desserts. I am a huge crème brûlée fan, and this restaurant serves one of the best I have ever had. The restaurant will include a new outdoor terrace with the renovations, so I’m sure it will be a fabulous spot this summer to enjoy a fantastic view of the mountains. More information on the renovations can be found here: Gaylord Rockies Resort undergoes exterior renovation. It may be a bit out of the way, but if you are looking for something special, this is one that I highly recommend!
