Join us for a workshop hosted by the SMPS Colorado Southern Colorado Committee that will dive into branding, communications, and digital marketing for today’s A/E/C firms. You will walk away with tips and tricks your firm can implement immediately to extend your brand’s presence to your clients, prospects, and communities.

Following overviews from leading Southern Colorado marketing experts on their individual topics, you will choose two areas that you would like to learn more about. The 45-minute breakout sessions will give you the opportunity to ask your most pressing questions to our panelists in a small-group setting.

Kyle successfully held leadership positions at the regions top advertising agencies before founding Blakely+Company in 2001. Kyle is an expert in business management, strategic planning, creative concepting, copywriting, and account management. 

     
 

Laura Cameron | Partner & Director of Strategy, Neon Pig Creative
Websites & Analytics

Laura Cameron is an experienced marketing and creative strategist in the Colorado Springs area. She has led successful strategic campaigns for large clients like Wendy's and Colorado Springs Utilities, and small non-profits and local businesses. Her design background—mixed with a passion for psychographics of target audiences—gives Laura a niche in creating strategic design while focusing on high level objectives.

 After working at in-house corporate marketing positions, agencies large and small, and freelancing in the Colorado Springs community, Laura finally took the leap to start her own company with two partners in 2017. As Director of Strategy, Laura oversees campaign strategies and directs creative concepts focusing on clients’ objectives. Laura also helps mold the minds of the future creative generation as an adjunct instructor of Multimedia Graphic Design at Pikes Peak Community College. Laura has also volunteered on several Board of Advisors for organizations to make her city and industry great. 

     
 

Dane Scott | President, Windstar Studios

Dane leads a talented team of production professional at southern Colorado’s largest independent production studio.  A veteran of over 25 years in the production industry, he works with local and national clientele including the United States Olympic Committee, Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, Volkswagen Motorsports, Federal Railroad Administration, Ent Credit Union, GE Johnson, Kratos Defense Systems and many more.

Career highlights include seven Olympic Games as Broadcast Manager for Olympic Broadcast Systems, and 17 consecutive years at the US Open Tennis Tournament as Producer of the iconic American Express Live at the Open radio broadcast. 

     
 

Mimi Wheeler | Principal, Coldsmoke Consulting
Communications, Positioning & Messaging Strategy

Mimi is the Principal of Coldsmoke Consulting, an LLC specializing in research and brand strategy. Her passion is in representing the customer’s view and bringing an outside-in perspective to the table. She has extensive experience in the sectors of energy, hospitality and tourism, non-profits and healthcare. 

 With over 30 years of experience in the research, strategy and marketing realm, Mimi brings a wealth of perspective and knowledge to engagements. She has worked for global brands H.J. Heinz, Reebok and Ocean Spray, as well as led the research and strategy practice for 10 years at Vladimir Jones, a full-service agency located in Denver and Colorado Springs. Among her achievements are the national launch of Step Reebok and Craisins Sweetened Dried Cranberries. 

Mimi holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Fuqua School at Duke University and a Bachelor’s degree from Trinity College (Hartford, CT). She has held extensive leadership roles in Colorado organizations including CASA of the Pikes Peak Region Board of Directors, TESSA Board of Directors, Newborn Hope Statewide Board of Directors and National Charity League of Colorado Springs Board of Directors.
