This luncheon will include several speakers from various regions north of the Denver Metro area. They will discuss upcoming opportunities in their area and how to better do business with them.

 

SPEAKERS

  ADAM KRUEGER, Assistant Director of Economic Development, City of Thornton

In Adam's role as Assistant Director, he acts as the single point of contact for primary employers and their consultants as they make location and expansion decisions. Adam has extensive experience in economic development, market research, and management. Prior to coming to Thornton in March 2011, he was the Business Development Manager for a non-profit economic development organization serving northern Colorado. Adam is a graduate of Colorado State University. He lives in Thornton with his wife, Kate, and daughters Ava and Zoe.

 

   PAULA K. MEHLE, Economic Development Coordinator, Town of Erie

Paula Mehle serves as the Economic Development Coordinator for the Town of Erie, Colorado. She is responsible for the Town’s economic development strategy, which includes local business retention and expansion programs, business attraction, strategic business alliances and business ombudsman activities. She is also responsible for the management of the Town of Erie Urban Renewal Authority, which includes five redevelopment areas.

Before starting with the Town in August 2012, Paula was the Assistant Director for Economic Development in the City of Brighton, Colorado where she managed primary employment prospects and was the liaison between businesses and City development staff. Paula has also held positions in planning, redevelopment, housing, and code enforcement divisions for a number of other municipalities in Colorado and the Inland Empire of southern California.

Paula actively participates in several international and national organizations that focus on key aspects of economic development, redevelopment, and marketing. In 2000, she joined the International Council of Shopping Centers. In addition, she is a member of International Economic Development Council, Economic Development Council of Colorado, American Planning Association, and the International City/County Managers Association.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning from California State Polytechnic University of Pomona 1995, followed by a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Local Government in 2011 from the University of Colorado, Denver. In 2005, she earned her American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) designation from the American Planning Association and is currently working towards the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation from IEDC.

  

  JOHN L. HALLEconomic Development Director, City of Westminster

John has 25 years of experience in economic development and private land use development consulting. His expertise includes multiple aspects of economic development, including primary business attraction and retention, small business development, retail recruitment, marketing, policy development and analysis, strategic planning, land development and incentive negotiations.

He previously served as Economic Development and Urban Renewal Director for the Town of Parker, Colorado. Prior to that he was business development officer for Westminster. In addition to times with Parker and Westminster, he has served as business recruitment officer for the Portland Development Commission, business development coordinator and Enterprise Zone program manager for the State of Oregon, and senior associate for Leland and Hobson Economic Consultants in Oregon. He has also engaged in teaching and conducted research in economic development at the university level.

John holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Willamette University in Oregon and a master's degree in economics from Portland State University.

 

    BO MARTINEZ, Director of Economic Development, City and County of Broomfield

Bo Martinez is Director of Economic Development for the City and County of Broomfield. Bo works to establish and leverage existing networks and partnerships with the public and private sectors, greater engagement with prospective and existing businesses, sustain and increase employment, stimulate private investment and revitalization to solidify and grow Broomfield’s economic base now and for the future.

 Prior to joining Broomfield, Bo was Economic Development Administrator with the Denver Office of Economic Development and Economic Development Manager with the City of Phoenix, where he managed the light rail transit oriented development program.   Bo earned a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado.

Registration Information

Regular registration ends at noon on the Monday before all Wednesday luncheons. There is a $25 late fee for registering after Monday.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be in writing and emailed to [email protected]. Registration fees will be fully refunded if written cancellation is received no later than noon the Friday prior to the event. Refunds will not be processed the week of the event.
