YES! This event will be recorded!

Working with subject matter experts (SMEs) is all about drawing out the most important insights and translating them into clear, usable content. In this session, we’ll explore practical strategies for asking the right questions, guiding conversations beyond surface-level answers, and tailoring your approach to fit different SME personalities and communication styles. You’ll learn how to prepare for these interactions, use soft skills to build trust, and apply simple techniques that make complex information easy to understand.

Participants will:

  • Understand how to adapt their approach to different SME personalities and communication styles for more productive conversations.
  • Gain strategies for simplifying complex or technical content so it’s accessible to broader audiences.
  • Build confidence in using soft skills, like curiosity, active listening, and relationship-building, to help SMEs feel comfortable and valued.
  • Walk away with a repeatable framework for preparing, conducting, and following up on SME interviews that can be applied across disciplines.
