How to Craft an Award-Winning Submission

Have you or your firm thought about submitting for an SMPS Colorado Marketing Excellence Award (MEAs) or SMPS National Marketing Communication Award (MCAs)? Did the process seem too daunting? Were you unsure where to start? Have you submitted in the past, but want to learn more about how the judges review submissions? If so, then this program is for you!

With the submission process for SMPS Colorado MEAs opening on January 16, 2023, this 60-minute session will focus on understanding the submission process from how to determine which category to submit your deliverable to walking through the submission process to what the judges specifically look out for in grading submissions. Attendees will also have the opportunity for a Q&A with a past SMPS Colorado MEA and SMPS National MCA judge.

As a member of the of the SMPS Colorado Marketing Excellence Awards Committee for the last four years, Gwyndolyn is excited to chair this event focusing on Excellence within the Colorado AEC community. She is always inspired by the caliber of entries and the amazing people who get recognized.


Mae Ann Saas
Director of Client Relations
Eidos Architects

Mae Ann Saas is the Director of Client Relations for Eidos Architects and has nearly 15 years of experience in the A/E/C industry. She was the Chair of the 2022 Marketing Excellence Awards for SMPS Colorado, serves as a DPS Career Connect Liaison, the Program Chair for the Association for Learning Environments and is an active member in the Hispanic Contractors of Colorado.

Barbara Shuck is the Owner of Everest Marketing Services. She is a Past President of SMPS, an SMPS Fellow, Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) and is a Trustee of the SMPS Foundation. She is a well-known resource in the AEC industry having presented to more than 200 audiences in the past 25+ years. Barbara knows how to connect with audiences and provide engaging, interactive learning experiences. She is excited to share her wealth of knowledge having previously judged SMPS National Marketing Communications Award entries and SMPS Colorado Marketing Excellence Award entries.


Molly Dall’Erta
Director, Member Recognition and Programs
SMPS National 

Molly Dall’Erta is the Director of Member Recognition and Programs at the SMPS Headquarters in Alexandria, VA. Having been involved in association management since 1994, she has also been with SMPS for the past 22 years. She manages the SMPS recognition programs and awards that showcase the work of its members professionally and in their leadership of the Society. With SMPS National recently celebrating the 45th Anniversary of the SMPS Marketing Communications Awards in 2022, Molly is excited to assist members and non-members with submitting entries for this upcoming year.
