The looming unknown on the health-care horizon is the massive reform bill currently working its way through our legislature. while the details are still being hammered out and the bill's future is uncertain - there is certain to be an effect on future healthcare design/construction projects. Tom Nash, Vice President of Financial Policy, Colorado Hospital Association will present the latest legislative update and impacts to our industry. Alan Spidel, Vice President and health Care Banker of Lancaster Pollard will address financing progress for hospitals nationwide - by touching on a full range of options, including bonds, HUD/FHA programs, and bank programs.

Tom Nash, Vice President of Financial Policy – Colorado Hospital Association
Tom Nash joined the Colorado Hospital Association as Vice President of Financial Policy in March of 2008. He provides financial expertise and resources to the executives and management teams of 92 member hospitals and health systems. He advocates and lobbies on behalf of member hospitals and serves as their primary financial representative in dealings with the governor’s office, legislature, regulatory bodies, insurance companies and others.

Michelle Brokaw, Chief Executive Officer – Fleisher Smith Brokaw, LLC
Michelle Brokaw is the owner and Chief Executive Officer of Fleisher Smyth Brokaw LLC. She is responsible for the firm's strategic direction, investment strategy, investor relations, and capital sourcing. Michelle's real estate career spans more than twenty years and includes experience in commercial real estate acquisition, development, finance, leasing, and asset management. Michelle was honored by CREW Denver as the recipient of the prestigious 2009 Woman of Vision Award. She is a member of National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado, Boulder where she majored in real estate and minored in finance and she holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration with a finance emphasis from the
University of Denver.
