| Event Description |
This program will cover how Fort Carson, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and others are utilizing LEED and building sustainable projects; what it means for those projects and what lies ahead. A representative from USGBC will also cover the LEED rating changes and how this will affect projects looking to get LEED certified.

Vince Guthrie, Utility Programs Manager, CEM at Fort Carson – Vince established and executes an award winning sustainable energy program at Fort Carson. He oversee $50M/year in utility purchases, sales and projects at Fort Carson. He can discuss how Fort Carson plans to sustain all facility systems from renewable sources by 2027 and what this means for building projects design and completion.
Linda Kogan, Sustainability Director for the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs – Linda works with the Facilities Services Department to advocate for high performance in new construction and renovation projects and directs the recycling and waste program. She also spearheaded the development of the University’s first sustainability Strategic Plan. Linda can discuss how their sustainability goals for high performance has and will affect design and build for the University’s projects.
Mark Tremmel, Architect, AIA, LEED AP, Tremmel Design Group, LLC – Mark will cover the LEED rating system changes and how that affects project points. He can also talk about projects that he’s worked on with LEED/Sustainability requirements.
