Educational Forums

Our educational programs are focused on our member's needs. You will find our educational forums to be insightful, focused, and specific to the needs of marketers at different career levels. We work to cover each of the domains of practice as defined by SMPS to ensure a well-rounded approach to marketing and business development education.

  Domains of Practice

Professional Growth

This forum focuses on the needs of marketers and BD professionals in the first 5 years of their career in our industry. Programs teach the specific how-tos necessary for being successful in your position. Areas addressed include proposals, presentations, and PR, among others.

Leadership Forum

These events focus on the needs of professionals with 5-10 years of experience in the industry. At this point in their careers, many are responsible for marketing plans, budgets, and other managerial tasks tied to marketing and business development.

Seasoned Marketers

When a marketer becomes seasoned, they want input and ideas from their peers. This group is discussion-based and limited to marketers with 10 or more years of experience in the industry in order to keep the discussion at a high-level. Subjects range from the appropriate use of social media to crisis management and accidental PR, and many, many other topics.

Webinars

These events are interactive, 90-minute seminars conducted via audio teleconferences and the Internet and hosted by industry experts covering industry hot topics, best practices, and special interests. The SMPS Webinar Series provides convenient, affordable continuing education for busy professionals. In Colorado, these events are hosted by local companies. For more information about webinars in general, visit the SMPS National Webinar page.

CPSM Study Groups

The Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) credential is a voluntary certification designed to elevate the professional standards in marketing and influence the future of this vital field. Furthermore, the CPSM designation serves as a mark of distinction for professional services marketers and business developers, raising their standing with their employers, peers, and the public. Our chapter organizes study groups to assist in preparation for the exam. For more information about the program, visit the SMPS National CPSM Page or contact the SMPS Colorado Study Group coordinator, Jennifer Whitton.
